I remember when my Nanna said to me “All of my friends have died.” Her statement made such an impact on me. We were very close and often went supermarket shopping and to nurseries and the cinema. My Nanna loved getting dressed up and putting on lipstick to go out. She would come home so happy after our social outings. She has since passed away but I treasure the fun times we spent together.
I am acutely aware that many senior citizens are feeling lonely and isolated. Distance and work constraints make it difficult for family members to visit as often as they would like.
This is why I created Golden Girls Assist to help senior citizens with daily tasks and to organise social group outings, so new friendships will be formed.
